All is well after our first day!
Huge excitement on arrival and the children were very pleased with their rooms - lots talking about the view from their windows!
Orienteering had them map reading, having to work in small groups (a challenge for some) and spelling too as they had to solve anagrams to complete the task. Competition was rife!
Low ropes was a the firm favourite and was sheltered beneath the trees so the light drizzle didn’t affect it. There were many unusual positions created as they helped each other through the course.
The children had pasta and bolognese for tea, followed by apple crumble. The verdict was the custard that went with it ‘wasn’t as good as mum’s!’
Torches were in use during the night line activity before being switched off so all the skills of communication could be put to the test - blindfolds added an extra focus!
If we are honest, the children settled down quickly at bedtime. They were clearly exhausted and we look forward to a day of Forest School activities.
Sorry no photos attached - sending attachments to emails is a challenge in deepest Dorset! Photos are being taken and will be shared later.
Mrs Deane - awake early in the morning, but not hearing any children yet!
