After a later wake up call at 7.30am, where many children had to be awoken from their sleeping slumber, a continental breakfast was enjoyed before a big day at the lake. Following the first challenge of actually putting on a wet suit, the children took part in three activities on the water.
Canoeing, where children were in pairs or teams of three in each canoe and had to master paddling before taking part in different games. During which Ritchie fell out of the canoe he was sharing with Miss Clark and Ceejay to his horror until he realised he could stand! For the rest of the day he was in and out of the water with real confidence, brilliant to see!
Raft building was a real team effort, to fix wooden planks and plastic barrels together with rope so that the team could paddle their way around an island. Daniella impressed in Team C where she could tie the knots like an expert!
Kayaking was all about mastering paddling yourself forward, backwards and in circles before playing stuck in the mud ‘kayak style’! Bodyboarding and paddle boarding on the kayak was also attempted by many. This made up the best day of Cory’s Life!
By dinner the children were happy to devour a roast chicken dinner followed by jelly and ice cream. They are now out enjoying some team games before a camp fire later.
