Egyptian Cinderella Musical Motifs
This term, we reviewed Peter and the Wolf by Sergei Prokofiev (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6fBjh42PQdk). Throughout this piece of music, each character is represented by a different instrument. On ours, all but one has used a keyboard to perform their music.
The children have worked hard to compose a motif to represent each character from our featured text - The Egyptian Cinderella. A motif is a recurring musical fragment or succession of notes. Every child with the class has composed their own motif for a character. Their motif has then been played individually beside others within their group before being played together at the same time (recorded individually and combined afterwards). Every time the character is mentioned during the narration, their motif will be played.
Being of a young age, this was not an easy task and many became really nervous when they recorded their piece, which meant that they sped up. With all that said, I am immensely proud of each and everyone, as they have thrived with the challenge and produced a piece of compelling music. Well done!

Each week, you will have a set of 8 spellings that I would like you to learn at home. You will also have a copy of them in your reading record. It is up to you how you wish to learn them. You can copy them out, put them into sentences or use sound buttons to help you with your phonic sounds.
Any questions, remember to just ask.
