Welcome to Sun Class!

Welcome Year 4!

The adults that work in this class are Miss Paull (Class Teacher) and Mrs Perry.  Mrs Windsor also works in our class as a 1:1 LSA.

Your new learning experience is:   Lights, Camera, Action

Please see the Curriculum Newsletter above for more information.

Our PE lessons will be on Wednesday and Friday.  Please ensure children come to school in the correct kit on these days and that long hair is tied back. Children are allowed to bring daps to wear in the hall which can be left in a named bag on your child's cloakroom peg. We do not allow the children to wear earrings for PE so please can they be removed or taped over on these days.

Thank you.

In Sun Class, we support children's social and emotional health by listening and supporting with an emotion coaching approach. In line with the school's behaviour policy, we use our traffic light system. Children regularly receive verbal praise, and are rewarded for positive and kind behaviour through raffle tickets and fishy points. When excellent work is produced or thoughtful behaviour is seen, we reward children with smiley faces.

Subject Knowledge Organisers

Below are the subject knowledge organisers related to the current learning experience. Read these regularly with your child to help them secure their subject knowledge.

Spellings

The children will use a phonics-based approach in school, where they will be given a wide variety of techniques to embed their spellings. Attention will also be given to spelling patterns learnt in Key Stage 1, prefixes and suffixes taught in Year 3, and Year 4 Common Exception Words.

Maths

In this section you will find booklets to support units of learning.

If your child is absent due to self-isolating, please support them in working through the necessary booklet.

Please spend time learning the multiplication facts (x3, x4, x6, x7, x8, x9, x11 and x12).
